Regular oversight, with advice when referred
Your project may benefit from regular cost oversight without a QS taking part in routine design meetings. The architect or project team refers proposals and questions, and our comments, alternatives and recommendations feed into the next design discussion.
You can seek that advice before an instruction or commitment is made, within the agreed scope. It does not have to wait for the monthly progress meeting. This approach relies more on the team identifying which matters need QS input and supplying the relevant information.
Tailored can suit a straightforward larger project, or a smaller project with complexity concentrated at identifiable stages, where an established team manages the wider process. We agree the reviews and involvement around the decisions ahead, the team’s capacity and your preferences.
Planned support through your project
Keep track of costs and get advice before the decisions that matter. Agreed reviews, monthly reporting and advice on proposals your team refers to us give you a clear view, while your architect continues to coordinate the project.

Know where the developing design stands against your budget. A starting cost plan and agreed updates show what has changed and where a decision may be needed.
For proposals your architect or team refers to us, cost comments and practical alternatives help you decide before committing. Procurement advice, agreed tender pricing documents and a comparison of returns help you judge the offers on a clear basis.
Your team coordinates the design, issues the tender and manages queries. Routine design meetings and extra workshops are separate.
See the likely final cost and understand what is properly due for payment. Monthly valuation advice is supported by site observations and supplied records, with variations and relevant claims scrutinised against the applicable contractual basis. Unsupported sums are questioned and the payment recommendation is explained.
A change register, monthly cost report and forecast show what has moved and how it affects your budget. One monthly progress meeting helps you and the team act on that information. Proposals referred by your team can be assessed before instruction; advice need not wait for the meeting.
Routine design meetings and continuous monitoring of general correspondence are outside this service. Contract administration, Employer’s Agent and project management are separate appointments.
Know what remains to be agreed and what it means for the final cost. Outstanding variations and relevant claims are assessed, with responses to the contractor and negotiation support within the agreed allowance.
An assessed account and closing summary make agreed and unresolved items clear, so you and your architect can decide how to move towards closing the account.
Prolonged negotiations, further assessment rounds and additional meetings are agreed separately.
